On April first it was out with the old and in with the new. Murals that is! The three new sports murals were delivered to the downtown location in the morning, installed by a dedicated crew of carpenters and then unveiled that evening. Over 150 guests were in attendance for the charity event committed to St. Louis Children’s Hospital.
The guests were treated to satellite food stations in order to sample some of the best bar-b-que food St. Louis has to offer. This included Ribs, Brisket, Turkey and Wings. The great meal was paired with selected beers from Anhueser Busch.
There was a brief entertainment session where Football Hall of Fame player, Dan Dierdorf, played MC and gave his thoughts on the Rams, football in general and the success of sports in St. Louis. The artist, Ray Harvey, was introduced by Mr. Dierdorf where they entered into a discussion of the three sports murals. Everyone in attendance was given a collectable poster depicting the three paintings and signed by the artist. The posters are available at Joe Buck’s Restaurant for $50 each and are signed by selected sports stars. One hundred per cent of the cost goes directly to the hospital.
