Despite interior temperatures of ninety-six degrees, initial work of the new classic car mural at the Overstreet House of Cars began this week. Much acrylic retarder was used as the paint almost dried on the brush but the art must go on. The scene which measures 60′ wide by 18′ tall shows a vintage Drive-In Movie setting. The title of the painting is “The Summer of ’69″. The scene will take weeks to finish and will serve as a visual backdrop to the more than sixty classic cars in the museum.
