Missouri Governor Signs into Law “Concordia, MO is Patriotic Mural City”!

With one signature Concordia, MO is now officially designated as the Patriotic Mural City of Missouri. With eight exclusive custom created paintings with more to come, the city is now transformed into a celebratory city. Being patriotic, not political these murals created and designed by Ray Harvey, has catapulted Concordia into a venue of pride. The first mural of a 100’ wide American flag was spearheaded by the Concordia Lions Club. With the success of this a mural committee was formed and private donations by the city merchants created a five year plan. This will bring ten murals to the walls with more being discussed. Concordia is the center of the country east, west, north and south located on I-70 interstate. This is the natural location for such a display.

Now we have eight! Eight murals in the Patriotic Mural Series have been completed with plans for two more in 2026. On the north face of the St. Paul Outreach collection building, a 55’ wide mural is now complete. Taking the original design of this historic moment Ray Harvey has put his own spin on the familiar painting!

Rosie the Riveter Takes Her Place in Concordia!

The completion of mural number 7 in the Patriotic mural series in Concordia is official. Viewable from a long distance on Main Street, the brightly colored iconic poster art has been duplicated. As part of the Westinghouse Electric advertising campaign during World War Two, the poster art was used to attract more women into the work force while the men were away.

Rock Island Trail Mural Nears Completion!

The new Rock Island Trail public access trail begins in Gerald, MO. Similar to the popular Katy Trail the old rail line has become a destination for the public to jog, walk and bike through Missouri. The newest creation by RayHarveyArt is a 138’ wide mural depicting patriotism, history and vision. The new trail in Gerald will be dedicated on May 30th, 2025. Due to the wet April when the painting began, it’s a little behind schedule but is anticipated to be completed within a week!

One Hot Mural in Bowling Green, MO

It was blowing fire that day my friends! When I was asked to create a two story tall fire breathing dragon in Bowling Green of all places… I was all in! Not what you typically expect to see in a small midwestern town but it’s an instant hit!

One of my favorite murals for one of my favorite patrons, Brad Walden in Hannibal, MO. We had planned this art for almost two years before the wall and my schedule was ready. At sixty-five feet wide it boasts a twelve foot tall headlight! It has become one of the busiest selfie spots in Hannibal. And why not? I think this makes twenty-five murals for me in Hannibal since 2018.

The 2024 painting Season is Extended in Arizona!

Typically my painting season in Missouri runs from April 1 to November 1. But this year I was able to extend it by creating four more illustrations on the Mother Road Route 66 in Kingman, AZ. My second painting trip there has resulted in new contacts and making new friends. Mild climates and nothing but sun provides the perfect atmosphere when winter is raising its head in Missouri!

Missouri’s Small Town Muralist Completes the 2024 Painting Season in Kirksville, MO!

Most painting seasons continue from about April until November first due to the changing weather in Missouri. This week RayHarveyArt will complete the 2024 mural making season in downtown Kirksville, MO. The 70’ wide full color painting is located on the square and across the street from the courthouse. The Kirksville Arts Council is responsible for bringing Mr. Harvey’s Art to the city. ‘The design discussion began last May,’ Harvey said, “and it’s fitting that the subject of the painting is the last of the season!” This is because the mural recognizes the four seasons of Missouri. Spring, Summer, Autumn and Winter and are colorfully depicted in the scene. The art is designed to be an iconic scene for Kirksville and Missouri. ‘The changing seasons is one of the best attributes of our state” added Ray Harvey, owner of RayHarveyArt and creator of the next tourist destination in Kirksville!

Route 66 in Kingman, AZ Ends in Two New Murals!

Over two weeks and 3,600 miles took us to Kingman to create two new murals for Mudd on 66, a new coffee shop, and Tin Can Alley, a WIP vintage airstream Air B&B park. The entire complex is expected to be fully functional by Autumn of 2024. I got it kicked of with a Kingman postcard design and the mural in the trailer Park.
