With only three days of drawing and thirteen days of painting the newest mural on Route 66 is complete!. The mural titled “Classic Road Show” commissioned by Midwest petroleum was signed by artist Ray Harvey yesterday after the last brush stroke was applied. The painting measuring 50′ wide and 8′ tall is located in the Midwest travel plaza at the corner of Route 19 and Interstate 44 in Cuba, MO. This painting marks the twenty-second original art piece by Ray Harvey in the area. The mural depicts a few of the classic cars seen on Route 66 during it’s hey day. The mural will greet the thousands of travelers and local patrons stopping in for food, fuel and refreshments. The plaza serves customers on nationwide travel as well as campers, truckers, residents and visitors to the Lake of the Ozarks.
Ray Harvey’s next mural is scheduled to begin next week at the Overstreet House of Cars in Maryland Heights, MO. This is the newest classic car museum in the midwest and will house at least one Ray Harvey original. This one being a Drive-In scene from 1969.

With only a couple days left of painting the new Midwest petroleum mural is winding down. Thirteen painting days and forty-eight feet later there will be a new classic car painting gracing the area of Route 66 in Cuba, MO. This painting is titled “Classic Road Show” and is greeting travelers at the Midwest truck Port. The atrium is open twenty-four hours and the painting will be there waiting for you. If you are on your way south or doing some floating stop in and see.

The latest painting for Mural City commissioned by Midwest Petroleum reached it’s halfway point today. After only six days twenty-five of the total fifty feet wide design has been completed. The Mid-way point was reached with the completion of a yellow Buick. This mural now shows four of the total of nine autos depicted in the design.

The GTO was completed today, along with progress on the Buick. After tomorrow the right side of the fifty foot Route 66 mural should be completed.

Today the Cadillac was completed. The 1966 GTO was begun. Thinking about a Purple Goat.

Midwest Petroleum Company has commissioned Ray Harvey Art to create a new mural for the atrium wall at the Cuba, Missouri location. The painting, which will measure forty-eight feet wide, will depict the nostalgic transportation on Route 66. The design will incorporate an estimated ten classic vehicles including autos such as a 1959 Cadillac and Ford Fairlane, a 1953 Corvette, a 1965 Mustang GT and others. The mural will be viewed in the entrance to the restaurant which serves thousands of customers traveling Interstate 44 which runs parallel to The Mother Road of Route 66. The design by Ray Harvey was presented and approved by owner Don McNutt of Midwest Petroleum yesterday with the final art being started by next week. The mural is expected to take three weeks for completion. With anticipation of this successful first painting there is already talk of continuing the mural to the other adjacent walls showing additional Cuba, MO transportation including air, rail and transport. This painting will mark an estimated twenty-two murals and scenes by Ray Harvey in the Cuba, Mo area.

The Webster University Photo Program has announced it’s next exhibit titled “Room With a View.” The details are as follows. This photo taken in Mobile, Alabama at the local waffle house is one of Ray Harvey’s two entries. The photo was taken with a vintage Panon Widelux camera.

ROOM WITH A VIEW
Artworks submitted for this juried exhibition should explore the subject of interiors and exteriors, both physical and emotional. Open to all styles & interpretations of theme.
